Olipop OOH Campaign: Pioneering First-Ever Campaign

2 Mins read

Out-Of-Home is not only for the big brands. Ever heard of the Olipop OOH campaign debut?

A prebiotic soda company, Olipop, has expanded its marketing to include outdoor advertising as a means of achieving further growth.

The business positions itself as a healthier substitute for well-known soda brands. The 12-ounce cans of its drinks contain 2 to 5 grams of sugar per, while other soda brands might contain higher.

It is understandable for brand owners to get lost in their ideas, especially when it comes to planning a strategy.

Pre-Biotic Soda Goes Outdoor

The campaign, which debuted on October 2nd, 2023, consists of 61 billboards and one mural in Chicago. This is based on a recent interview with Olipop’s head of marketing, Chad Wilson.

Owing to the brand’s enormous success with UGC marketing and social media, Wilson stated that out-of-home advertising was “the next logical channel” for Olipop’s marketing plan. Wilson’s team determined that expanding their offline marketing strategies made sense, particularly as Olipop’s retail distribution increases.

Location Matters

Chicago: Why?

Wilson stated that the company selected the city in an attempt to increase its recognition in the middle of the country, as it is more well-known on the coasts.

“Our goal was to launch this initial campaign in a market that wasn’t as anticipated.” When a company experiences success in the Midwest, Wilson said, it starts to transition from a startup to a larger brand. He said, “Chicago seemed like a good place to start, with its large and diverse population.”

Olipop has also experimented with other conventional advertising strategies. The brand worked with Olipop investor and Grammy-nominated singer Camila Cabello on its debut television ad, “Real Love Makes Us,” in May 2022. Olipop’s multifaceted advertising strategy demonstrates the company’s dedication to expanding its market reach and enhancing its standing in the beverage sector.

oOHmatters Thinks

When it comes to advertisements, Olipop doesn’t play. Olipop OOH campaign’s strategy is one of the most well-planned ones as a start-up business. Upon gaining attention, they did not waste any time before moving on to their next step.
